It's getting better

Tonight I had the opportunity to go to a fundraiser dinner for Teen Challenge. There are several Teen Challenges located across the United States, but this one is designed to help women get over their addictions. Along with helping counseling them through that process, they share the love of Christ. During the dinner the women got up and sang some worship songs. It brought tears to my eyes because you could see how Christ had come into their lives and healed them and their baggage. Sometimes the world can get you down when you want so badly for changes to happen and the world to become a better place, and it just seems like it is getting worse and than nothing you can do will help. But tonight was one of those nights when you are proven wrong. All though it may be baby steps... the world is getting better. 20+ women would not have given their life to The Lord and gotten rid or their additions if it wasn't. One of my dreams is to inspire women and to teach them that they are loved, and deserve to have self worth. After seeing the women tonight it made me more inspired. I feel like it was one of those times God gives you the little push you need to actually hear what He is trying to tell you. And for me, those happen a lot because sometimes I lack listening skills... Just ask my parentals... hahah

Tomorrow I am going to a (don’t freak out) sex addiction conference... I am going with some people in my social work major and our professors… This topic is very foreign to me, and it will be rather interesting to learn about… And it will probably make me uncomfortable... But hey these people need help and love to. Jesus didn't just call us to be comfortable...

So my very AWESOME friend and roomie Kari Tall-Domingos wants me to blog about her, which is an easy thing to do since she is so AWESOME! (Like I said before) I think of it as an amazing blessing that I have a friend that sees the world the same way as I do. We have very similar goals and dreams, and I love being able to share those with her. We are both social work majors and want to help people. She has a great heart and the ability to love anyone. She is a great friend, has an amazing walk with God, and is just a fun/spunky person to be around. I am constantly getting an ab workout because of how hard she makes me laugh. And I love her lots! :)
